What is the 10 DNS Lookup Limit?

Per RFC 7208 Section 4.6.4, a receiving server can make a maximum of 10 DNS queries when evaluating your SPF record. Mechanisms like include, a, mx, ptr, exists, and redirect count towards this limit.

Warning: If you use too many 'include' mechanisms and exceed the limit of 10, the record is considered invalid (PermError) and your messages may be rejected.

Why is 'PTR' Usage Not Recommended?

Official documentation (RFC 7208 Section 5.5) advises against using the ptr mechanism. It creates heavy queries on the DNS side and causes slowness/errors.

Instead, using your static IP addresses (ip4: or ip6:) increases performance and security.
